Two Swindon Cross-Country sets arrive into Glasgow Queen Street with the 10am ex-Edinburgh on the 14th May 1960. At the time six of the seven ScR sets were allocated to Hamilton. On the left is Swindon Inter-City leading DMBS 79111. Michael Mensing.

A Swindon Cross-Country and a Derby Heavyweight set (later Class 120/107) in Glasgow Queen Street ready to work the 12.10pm to Edinburgh Waverley on the 13th May 1961. At the time three of these Swindon sets were allocated to Leith Central. Michael Mensing.

A three-car Met-Camm DMU forms the 2.40pm service to Kirkcaldy seen awaiting departure from Glasgow Queen Street station on 27 May 1961. Closest is SC51462 allocated to Dundee at the time. Cardiff (Queen Street) station, 02/75. On the right is BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu (Class 116) set No.C327 on a Cardiff (Bute Road) - Coryton service. A station on this site was built by the Taff Vale Railway in 1840 and replaced in 1887, with rebuildings taking place in 1907, 1973 and 2014. The office block with the BR symbol on the top was the proposed BR's Western Territory HQ, but it remained empty because of the abandonment of the particular BR re-organisation scheme of the time.
